Everyone with an interest in running, jumping, or throwing is welcome, regardless of experience or ability. Track is one of the oldest and greatest sports. There is a lot of camaraderie and friendships made while having plenty of fun. If you are interested in coming out for in Track this year, please be sure to register. A form is includes at the bottom of this sheet. Please return it in your folder if you are not currently signed up. A sports physical is required. Parents :
The coaching staff is in need of volunteers to assist the coaches at the practices to help out in coaching as well as timing during time trials and workouts this year. Any type of experience is welcome and appreciated. The only requirements are a willingness to help.
Also, each parent must volunteer to work 2 meets. We usually provide 4 parent volunteers per meet session. We host a meet this year on May 7th where more volunteers are needed and assigned.
There will be a parent’s informational meeting on Thursday, March 10th at St. Scholastica Parish Center in Room 201 at 7:00 pm. All parents who have a child registered or interested in joining Track are asked to attend. There will be additional information provided. New registrations are welcome at this time.
Also, there is a Jr. High ‘Learn-By-Doing’ Track and Field Clinic that is very helpful at Wheaton North High School on Sunday March 20th from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. There are a lot of experienced high school coaches with experience who provide excellent tips. There will be a link on the league’s website, s-p-l.org, for registration, directions, and a list of events where proper technique is taught as well as time allowed for practicing.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or require more information.
